Minardi driver Mark Webber took his first victory of the season on Wednesday
evening when he saw off a field of top Formula One™ racing photographers in
an action packed karting race.
The event, organised by F1™ racing photography agency Sutton Motorsport
Images, was held at the Daytona outdoor track in Milton Keynes, England. And
according to a press release, Webber did not have an easy time of it,
despite his Grand Prix experience.
On a damp track, the Australian had to fight hard during the initial
laps, barging his way through the field with notable braking ability to take
the race lead.
"There were no favours out there today," said Webber. "The Suttons lot
gave it their all and we had some fantastic racing. Can't wait for the next
race in 2003."
Webber will next be on track on Friday morning in first practice for the
British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
