“It was good to be in a Formula One car for the
first time here at Interlagos. We got through some good work and look
forward to improving further tomorrow. I like the track a lot. It’s
different from most other F1 circuits because of its anti-clockwise
direction, and it’s bumpy in places, but it’s also challenging, which is
something any race driver relishes.” |

“That was a good qualifying session and the boys
did a great job. I could have gotten a little more out of the car at turn
four, but otherwise, I was happy with my best lap this afternoon. It’s a
great achievement for the whole team that we are as close to the top 10
qualifiers in terms of lap times as we are, and it gives us good reason to
believe we’re making progress.” |

“The car was obviously heavy at the start with
the strategy we had chosen, and then we weren’t able to stick to our pit
stop schedule because of a fuelling issue. The balance of the car was much
better on the second set of tyres, but then I had a touch with Massa, which
caused a puncture, and I had to make an unscheduled stop, followed by
another five laps from the end of the race, for a final splash of fuel. This
was a good Grand Prix to get under my belt. I learned a lot today, but I’ve
still got a lot more to do.” |
