“It was a good thing coming to the test
here last week, but as a result of that test, we also had some
preconceptions about the car was going to behave, and it didn’t quite
work out that way today. We had some problems balancing the chassis in
the first session, but then made progress. Tomorrow, we can work on
the car with a lot less fuel on board, and maybe we can get away with
running a little more wing as well, because I think we were a bit
light today. All told, though, it wasn’t too bad a day, and we’ll work
on further improvements tomorrow.” |

“It was a very good qualifying session for
us. We had quite a frustrating morning today, but we looked hard at
all the data and were able to sort the problem. We worked towards
taking fuel out of the car and it was a lot better. Like everybody, we
got stuck with the red flag at the end of the session. It would have
been nice to have an extra run, but it’s the same for everybody.
Overall, it was a good job for our little team here at a circuit that
is tough on the efficiency of everything and also that’s a high-power
track. Together, everybody has done a good job.” |
Race
MARK WEBBER Position: DNF (lap 21) Fastest lap: 1 min 27.104 secs
“I made a decent start, had a go at Sato at the Parabolica on the
first lap, and after a brief mix-up between Alex and myself at the
chicane, was able to home in on the Jordans again. The car was going
well at that point, but then it just lost drive. This is the first
time I have had two DNFs in a row this year, so we’ll definitely be
looking to make amends at Indianapolis in two weeks’ time. I haven’t
raced there before, but the history of the place is amazing, so I’m
really looking forward to it.” |
